| Carbon Emissions
Policy |
The Carbon Trust
has recommended a ´three-stage
approach´ to outline how a company
or organisation demonstrates it is
committed to addressing climate
change and should act.
These stages are:
1. Firstly, focus on direct
emissions, implementing all cost
effective energy efficiency measures
and. reducing the carbon intensity
of its energy supply;
2. Secondly, {work} with other
organisations. To reduce emissions.
Up and down the supply chain;
3. Then, (if appropriate, consider
the option of developing of offset
strategy;
Butler Consultants supports this
three stage approach and where
reasonably possible applies these
three steps to its daily business
operations. While we are a small
business and focus on practical
things like transport methods, and
our energy use for example; the
office is fitted out with low energy
equipment and we have fitted low
energy rated light bulbs. As we
continue to grow it is our intention
to develop a culture of “doing our
part” and focusing on carbon
emission controls through investment
and training in methods that are
both practical and reasonable. We
strongly believe and promote with in
our business the focus of reducing
emissions where practically possible
through making the best choices
available on methods of transport,
electrical equipment and heating
used.
